Host Organization: MAP Foundation
I live in Mae Rim district, Chiang Mai and right now I am studying Political Science and International Affairs at Chiang Mai University.
I am interested in the role of Saphan Siang Youth Ambassador programme because I think it gives me an opportunity to respond to migrant worker issues while having the chance to interact with them. Youth Ambassadors will work towards the protection and promotion of migrant workers’ rights throughout Thailand, including the Northern region.
I would like to change attitude of Thai people towards migrant workers. In light of this, the development of migrant workers and labour rights are important to upgrade workers’ quality of life. If we helped them and solved existing problems directly, we would gain benefits in many ways, such as socio-economic development, improved labour markets and better public health standards. Finally, I hope to learn from this programme, and I hope to work and learn with migrant workers to develop myself, in the hope that together we will change migrants’ lives for the better.
