“The world will not be destroyed by those who do evil, but by those who watch them without doing anything.” – Einstein
I am currently a junior student at, majoring in Monetary and Financial Economics with a minor in Finance, Thammasat University. From my personal encounter with various Filipinos and Burmese migrant workers during my study in Singapore, I developed my interest in the issue of migrant workers’ rights and welfare. I believe this issue needs more attention from the society and government. As our economies are increasingly connected and labor are highly mobilised, there are higher number of maltreatment and exploitation cases of migrant workers. As a Youth Ambassador, I want to understand the problem and contribute my ability to tackle the issue. I firmly believe that youth can play a vital role in being the voice for the voiceless and ultimately bringing about positive changes. I would also like to take this opportunity to work with non-governmental organizations and the international organization. This is a valuable opportunity for me to offer my helping hand and in turn gain new insights from migrant workers.
