“The world is full of nice people. If you can’t find one, be one.”
I’m a final year student, majoring in Southeast Asian Studies. On the verge of graduating, I find having hands-on experience to be beneficial. Working with an NGO will certainly provides a great opportunity to develop practical skills. I decided to participate in the Saphan Siang programme because I want to be the voice that will help improve the status of migrant workers who nowadays play important roles in the country’s economic development. Unfortunately, many Thai people hold stereotypes of migrants for many decades, and these beliefs affect migrants in many ways. Some migrants face second-class treatment, abuse and exploitation. I want to be a part of a positive change and understanding for migrant workers in Thailand.
